I went into my local Morrisons to grab one of their milk chocolate dragon eggs for the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere, and thought I’d check out their chilled free from section while I was there. Whole Creations raw cookie dough caught my eye, and I thought I’d give it a try. It was a plain vanilla dough with triple chocolate chips, so a mixture of milk, dark, and white chocolate chips, sounded too yummy to resist! The roll didn’t look very big, and cost £3.65, which I thought was a little costly when reading the packaging which said it would make 12 ‘half’ cookies or 6 big cookies. When slicing, I found that it gave me 12 good sized cookies so I was happy with that. A lot of gluten free food is still quite expensive after all!
All you have to do to get to the yummy eating part, is heat up your oven, slice the dough role, and place each slice on a lined baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes and then let them cool for 10 minutes on the tray, before transferring to a wire cooling rack (or your mouth, either is cool really).
I’ve made these twice now and I just love them! The dough is full of chocolate chips, each slice you cut is filled with a good amount of all 3 different chocolates. Definitely not my perfect cookies, but they were super simple and did taste lovely, they had a a nice crispy outside and a chewy middle. I did feel like they had more of a shortbread texture than a cookie texture, it was almost like a strange, but very tasty, combination of the two.
If you’re looking for freshly baked cookies, but don’t have the time or energy to make up your own dough, then this cookie dough is a must for you. Your house will smell of freshly baked cookies, and all you’ll need to wash up is the knife used to slice the dough, perfect!
Get yourself to Morrisons and give Whole Creations Gluten Free Cookie Dough a try, I’d love to hear what you think of them.
